А что мы вообще знаем о Рите?
Вот, что я повзаимствовала у Кристины (надеюсь, что она не против):
Carisbrooke Kennels was established in 1974 by Mrs Rita Francis-Little of New South Wales.
Rita is an icon in the breed and her contribution to the Jack Russell Terrier in knowledge, judging, her outstanding illustrated JRT Breed Standard, her breeding program and her willingness to mentor others is unique.
One of Ritas first Jack Russells came from Mrs Hoben of Dee Why in 1974. This is her describtion of Beaty JR2580, named by Rita's children after the Brittish author Beatrix Potter.
- "Home came this thing, that fitted in my hand, her markings were lovely, rich tan head, a coin spot on the tail the size of the required one shilling piece. In the middle of her back the most perfect spot I have ever seen, one would swear it had been scribed by a compass."
The other Jack Russell was the male Trump, named after the original Trump. He came from Mr Shepherd of Bowral. A lady had brought out three bitches and two males from England 20 years ago, she was now elderly and Mr Shepherd had taken all her stock.
Trump had a lovely rich mahogany tan and black head markings and on one side a map of Australia in black. He had a beautiful nature.
Beaty was a fierce and fearless hunter. She had three litters, two of her pups was kept, the male Moggie JR2581 sired by Trump and a bitch Santa Pause sired by Louie Of Brighthelm JRI 28.
Rita became a member of the Jack Russell Terrier Club Of Australia and applied to register the dogs Beaty and Moggie. Mrs Hoben supplied her with sketchy details of the dogs linage and Julie Edwards (prefix IBM) did the rest. Beaty was traced to the Wettenhalls foundation stock and that of the Roycrofts.
AUCH Malung Orinoco, bred by Mrs Erica Wilkens of the Malung Kennels in Victoria, was owned by Rita Francis-Little. Malung Orinoco was a once in a lifetime dog with substance, balance and breed type. Even with his good bone Orinoco was easily spannable. You see his influence on the Carisbrooke Jack Russell Terriers very clearly, the classic head and the outstanding structure. The pictures downunder are all Carisbrooke JRTs related to Malung Orinoco.
Rita continues to breed a very few, very selected litters. She is a foundation member of The Jack Russell Terrier Club of NSW, where she is a life member. She enjoyes sharing her knowledge with the new comers in the breed, on its history, form, function and the grooming of her beloved Jack Russell terriers.
Rita has given her breed lecture to the Royal New South Wales Canine Council to the aspiring Judges and is an ANKC Terrier Group Judge.
